Tears and Smiles
In every woman a smile can be found beneath the tears. In every sanctuary there’s a stillness. In every stillness there’s a faint whisper. In the whisper warmth can be felt. In that warmth there’s safety to be found. In safety there’s a new beginning to be captured. In the new beginning gratitude is laid bare. In the gratitude loneliness will make its presence known. Within the loneliness there are many unspoken questions. In every unspoken question there will be an answer. In the answer there will be tears—ones not yet heavy enough to conceal her smile.

Here would be a tight exercise in the logic of matryoshka doll — or a sort of verbal palindrome. Zooming into what lies hidden in the bellies of Russian dolls. It's a micro-short story, under 100 words. As a writer, I believe experimenting with different styles only strengthens the craft!
